Hayfork’s Favorite Half-Grass Band: Steel Wool
Performing live at the Hayfork Harvest Party hosted by Merit Parcel at Northern Delights October, 2017
2018 Reunion Tour Dates:
Hayfork’s premier half-grass band, Steel Wool, played to critical acclaim in the Fall of 2017. One lifestyle columnist even moved to Nepal and took a vow of austerity after one of our shows. He said he had heard all there was to hear in string-band music, and could now spend the rest of his life learning how to levitate in a Buddhist monastery. In the winter of 2018, Steel Wool retired with nothing left to prove.
Summertime rolled along and demand for the band’s return was high. After at least one or two people asked about us playing again, we decided the time was ripe for us to re-form for the 2018 Reunion Tour.
Our first stop was the Bigfoot BBQ at the Trinity County Fairgrounds; Sept 8th, at 3:30PM. Everyone enjoyed the bluegrass, beer, and local barbecue before the races.
2019 saw Steel Wool play only one exclusive performance on black friday at Brews n’ Screws in Hyampom. With a new decade dawning, Steel Wool are coming out of the gates hot in 2020 with a leap day show. Only happens once every four years, kind of like the band’s performances. With a group as dynamic as this, every show could be their last!

Thanks for stopping in to check us out. If you want to book the legendary Steel Wool at your next party, don’t hesitate before the band retires yet again. Most humans make us want to die, but y’all are cool.
